Leroy Whoever told you that needs to do a little better research. First, you will need a 30-50 amp converter plug so that you can plug into the 30A connections with your 50A plug. Now that you have a 30A connection, you will be limited to 30A service and won't be using any more electric than if you had 30A service. But why the worry -- you aren't paying for electric anyway, unless you are on a monthly rental.
