  1. We had a 30T last year which handled poorly and we had to add on the after market suspension kit to improve safety at highway speed as it wouldn't track and did the 'tail wags dog' over 45mph. Winnebago wouldn't take responsibility for problem in any way. We are looking for other 30T owners with the same problem. I can be reached by email rajport@charter.net. RJ

The handling problems are the fault of the Ford chassis. Some handle well with no additional suspension mods or add-ons. Others require sway bars, trac bars, better shocks, etc. Some handling problems can be improved with four corner weighing, correct tire inflation and proper wrought distribution.

  2. Motorhome is a class A gas Newmar Bay Star model 3209. Equalizer leveling system will not correctly auto level. I've followed the procedure to manually level then "set the null" as instructed. But then when using auto level the front wheels are raised off the ground.

When I manually level, I extend the front jacks until planted then the rear jacks until planted. Raise the front... then actually retract the rear jacks a little so I can extend the front a bit more without raising front tires off the ground. My driveway isn't overly slanted, so getting the coach level manually isn't a problem.

Is the auto level feature not capable of retracting jacks as necessary during the leveling procedure?

    Thanks,

    Ken

  3. Check out the surge guard and EMS units made by Progressive Industries. After much research comparing Progressive Industries to the Surge Guard brand, I chose Progressive Industries. Made in the USA, lifetime warranty. Very happy with my decision, very solid well made unit EMS-PT50C.

  4. One thing YOU DO NOT GET is a better price.

Don't assume there is an advantage if you belong to FMCA, contact CoachNet and ask!

I called CoachNet to renew and asked about the FMCA discount. I was told I needed to sign up for a "new" membership through the FMCA site. Did it that way, saved $10, so there IS an advantage to belonging to FMCA !

  5. After considering both the portable and the hard wired surge protector units from Progressive Industries, I'm considering getting the EMS-PT50C portable unit.

I'd like to hear from owners of the portable unit. Any downside to using it? Do you feel it's secure by locking it to the power pedestal?

I'm thinking perhaps of cutting the shore cord inside the bay near the transfer switch, putting male & female plugs the cord, then plugging in the EMS unit in the bay. I could then bypass the unit if it ever failed and had to be sent back for repair.

I appreciate all thoughts and opinions.
