  1. It is a great question and one that we frankly agonized about. Michelle and I are both animal lovers.

For us it came down to the welfare of the cats. They are both outdoor cats, avid hunters, and super enjoy their outside time. While living in Maine, we had plenty of both open space and woods for them to play and hunt for hours on end.

Cats are more or less creatures of habit and in my humble opinion, do not adjust well to new surroundings. I do suppose that if you raised them in a mobile environment from birth, it would be different but not in general.

We figured that our options were to re-home them or bring them with us and confine them to the coach. We were both very frightened that if we let them off the coach at anytime that they could simply either eventually wander off or worse, find a hiding spot and not come back. Or get lost, or succumb to what ever predator was out there. By rehoming them, we did realize there would be a short period of adjustment in their lives but that they eventually would become very comfortable once again.

It was also very important where they would up. We were not going to simply let anyone have them, it had to be the right fit. In the end, Zen (3 years old) went back to live with the couple that gave her to us. They live in the woods, and Zen's mother still lives with them. There was a short period of adjustment but everyone is doing great. We have been able to check in on her and are glad that she has a loving home.

Vinnie (10 years old) ended up going to an elderly woman that very much loves animals and already has a dog and another cat. She has a rolling piece of land and is next door neighbor to Michelle's mother. She too has mad a wonderful adjustment and is both receiving and giving great love to her new caretaker. Both have plenty of free area to roam, hunt, play and live peacefully.......

I am grateful for your concern.

  2. Cigar,

We ended up going with the AT&T hot spot. We are currently customers and it seemed to make the most sense to us. The unit itself I think is $50 or free if you are upgrade eligible. Additionally, we will be able to use it on the go. The rates are reasonable and with the relative ease and general availability of wi-fi at most rv parks, we are hoping not to exceed our elected usage of 10 gb monthly. If we do, we can upgrade accordingly. We currently have the share plan. I share these phones with 4 other family members for a total of 5 people using it. With 5 iPhones and 5 data plans we pay about 305 a month. Happy trails and we hope to catch up with you soon!

  3. Sounds Good Paul,

We are reserved in St. Augustine for the Month of January. Michelle's parents have a time share there and we will be able to spend some time enjoying hopefully moderate weather and visiting with them I also have 3 Uncles and a Cousin in Florida to visit as well. We hope to meander our way West and definitely want to see Napa Valley in the Spring time. Michelle is a bit of a wine nut and has always wanted to tour some vineyards......maybe we will bump.

  4. XC,

I did notice after leveling the coach the following morning that although far more stable, it still did have some movement. Certainly something we can live with. Typically when I do rise early, I just make coffee and go to my computer......So glad to hear you enjoy "the life"! One of the factors for me that pushed me in this direction is that throughout what research I did to I could not find any dissenters. Everyone seems to enjoy this way of living. Well, we truly have jumped headlong in to it now and our drop dead is nearly upon us. Cleaning up a few loose ends and then we will be off. Like yourself, I am still employed but able to work remotely. I also do travel quite frequently so the intention is to leave Michelle in the nicest and most picturesque settings we can find. I am also never gone for long!!

Talk to you soon, would love to bump in to you someday1
