We are in the preliminary stages of planning a trip across country next summer from Tennessee to Washington state. We hope to include a cruise to Alaska from Seattle. Our concerns are where we can securely park our coach and where we can house our pets for the week we are cruising. Any experience or suggestions? Also, we welcome ideas on sightseeing along the way. I have a Carefree direct response auto-retract system and it came loose from the cradle while traveling. I stopped and tried to retract it but it would not budge... I hit the extend button and it fell out open... long story short.. had to manually roll awning up and tie to roof a/c and antenas. Trying to diagnose the problem, I can see the motorized end is working (gears, rod, etc) but the non-motorized end is not turning. Has anyone had this problem... or know a solution. Is it possible the metal rod could be broken in the middle? Or is there some set screw or something that catched the non-motorized end? Any suggestions appreciated. We are in the initial stages of planning a trip from Tennessee to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. What is the best time of year to make this trip? We are open to suggestions for other areas to visit while traveling in that direction.

We just returned from a 6-week vacation in the NE states. It is beautiful and I am sure the fall colors will be even more beautiful. We visited Quechee, VT and the Quechee Gorge Staet Park. That area would surely be lovely during the fall. Also in Bar Harbor, ME the Acadia National Park is another beautiful place. After getting in NE and seeing all the beautiful mountains we think a fall trip to that area would be great. Happy travels!

We have been towing a 2005 Honda Pilot and it has been a great toad. The only requirements listed for the Honda is to run the gear shift through all the gears several times after towing and before driving. We recently bought a 2009 Jeep Wrangler and are in the process of getting it tow ready. We just thought it would be fun having a Jeep to run around in on our travels. Steve & Nancy 2007 Tiffin Phaeton
