Itasca

Am planning a trip from Arizona to Lake Tahoe and the northerly route 395 from Bishop to the Lake Tahoe area would be a direct route for us. Am wondering if the terrain is very mountainous or just more rolling hills in the valley along the edge of the mountains. Have a 38 ft. diesel with a 300 Cummins and will be towing. If any of you have traveled this route, please give us your thoughts. TKS
