Hi: I have a series 1000 trans in a 2008 Holiday Rambler purchased in Jan.
Went on a short trip trans overheat warning came on climbing a hill north of Grants Pass, Or on Interstate 5 not towing anything outside temp about 75 degrees. Pulled over soon as I could checked fluid, water temp both OK.
Not sure of history on the trans unit has 26,000 miles on it. No external cooler only the standard one in the radiator. Did it again on return trip climbing hill out of Medford Or. outside air temp about 65. No sure what type of trans fluid is in unit.
Should I consider installing an external cooler?
I am going to change the fluid and filter to be sure I have the proper fluid and will use Castrol Transynd.
Any other suggestions?
