We have an M & G braking system installed on our 2012 Suburban. The system uses the air brakes from the coach and is very effective. We have been towing with a 2008 Holiday Rambler Ambassador with no issues. Pros: Easy to hook and unhook. Literally takes about 5-10 minutes! Very effective braking especially when quick stops are needed! About $3000 installed and that includes the Blue Ox tow bar and accessories. Primary expense is for vehicle equipment: base plate, air cylinder to vehicle master cylinder. Coach simply requires an air line and adapter be installed at the hitch. We just traded coaches and the only expense was the installation of the air line.

We are heading to Durango, CO next week and will be parking our coach at a local RV park for a week while we stay with family during our visit. We will be plugged in to shore power to maintain heat. We do not plan on extending our slides nor connecting to water during our stay. We are unfamiliar with camping in cold weather for any length of time without winterizing. The forecast is daytime temps of mid-50's with overnights in the mid to low 20's. A long explanation leading to my question: Given the dynamics of the stay, should we winterize the coach while it is parked or would the heat generated from the coach keep things from freezing. It seems we should be fine but I certainly don't want to freeze anything! We drive a 2008 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 40PLQ. Thank you for any feedback!

We are considering travel between I-25 @ Walsenberg, CO to Durango, CO using Hwy 160. We are traveling in a 41 diesel coach towing a Suburban. I assume I may have to unhook the Suburban thru the mountain passes but am wondering if anyone has taken this route in a similar sized RV. Thank you for your help!
