  1. One difference noted is the 1490TLM does not reflect both the miles TO your destination and the miles driven FROM your start point, only the miles remaining TO your destination. My Nuvi 350 reflected both of those numbers. Recently, in downtown "Nawlins" (New Orleans) my 1450 became disoriented (tall buildings maybe?). Immediately replaced it with my Nuvi 350 which functioned without error and got us out safely and quickly. I am going back to my Nuvi 350 and keep the 1450 for future needs.

  2. Larry, my 2002 39' Airstream 396XL also has the auto 50 Amp Cord Reel. Believe me when I say it is no fun manually stowing a 50 Amp cord in a basement compartment. My first 35' AS MH did not have an auto reel so I speak from experience. Here is my routine for not placing excess stress on the reel mechanism: 1) Unplug the cord from the electric box and place the plug on the ground where I will be standing to reel in the cord. 2) With a wet shop cloth in my right hand I grasp the cord at the cord entrance port and wipe it clean for approximately 30 inches with the switch in the off position. 3) With my left hand, I then move the switch to the "IN" position and reel in the cleaned portion of the cord steading the cord with my right hand as it is reeled in the approximately 30 inches. I then repeat steps 2 and 3 until the entire cord is cleaned and reeled into the plastic storage container taking just a few minutes from start to finish.

The 50 Amp lug prongs are cleaned of any dirt or mud leaving the equipment clean the next time it is needed. So far I have no problem with the cable power reel.

  3. Regarding camp grounds in SE Florida. You may wish to place a phone call to ReserveAmerica.com and ask the operator that responds to search all of the State Park Camp Grounds in that area. It will only take a moment and they seem to be quite cooperative when doing the search. Good luck this time of the year as sites are quite scarce.

  4. Ron - We still live in a free America, your First is safe. Regarding the dues increase; think of this - 100% of those posting thought the incease was a prudent step by the Governing Board to insure the continued benefits associated with membership in this this great association. Please, reconsider the stance you took in reversing your "goose eggs" and join the proactive side of the house.

Good luck and safe tavels to you as you enjoy this great America that we live in today. However, that is your privilidge.
