As I stated have the same Equinox. The chimes will stop around 25-30 minutes. GM is working with me and telling me to get a battery disconnect for now because some power is still on. They are sending this back to the proving grounds. It is safe to tow.
How can you disconnect the battery if you are supposed to be in "accessories" mode? Why be in accessories mode?
