I have a 2009 Silverado 4WD that I have towed since new. My owners manual covered this subject completely. I suggest that you read it and follow it. Setup on mine is transfer case in neutral, Transmission in Park and keys are removed and in my pocket. My lights are fastened into the motorhome.
