smsmith511@gmail.com Report post Posted March 29, 2009 Has anyone been to the campground at Maumee Bay State Park Ohio? My wife and I have decided to take a long weekend and go camping. We do not have a tow behind our 32 ft class "A" motorhome. How good are the hiking and biking trails? We are not interested in shopping or a casino, just walking and visit nature. Thanks for your suggestions. Sign me.....tired of winter already! Steve PS. Yes, I just asked about Christmas yesterday. I trying to plan my year. I want to camp everywhere and with all the tip I'm getting I just might.
guldenschuh Report post Posted March 30, 2009 We have camped there many times and it is a great park. Lots of places to hike and bike. Can be very busy, especially on the weekends, so a reservation would be a good idea. They have sections that are held for walk-ins and if you come during the week, you can usually get a site and keep it for up to two weeks.
KeithB Report post Posted June 28, 2009 We camped there in early June. Many trails for hiking/biking. Beautiful beach. The sites are blacktop and level with 30 amp electric. You are very close to Toledo so you'll see the blinking lights of the radio towers and hear the trains.
