Guest Wayne77590 Report post Posted March 2, 2010 When I purchased our 2008 Destination (Freightliner chassis), I noticed that the Dash AC drain was dripping down on the Onan generator. I had the dealer replace the drain hose so that it bypassed the Onan. Hey! No problem, right? The Onan is waterproof? Today, I was talking to the service manager trying to figure out why my dash air would sometimes start putting out warm air (another story). During the conversation I mentioned that I would like to have the Expansion Valve pointed out to me. I had seen where an expansion valve had the insulating material rupture and caused the valve to ice up. Well, that is where the drain comes from (general vicinity) and the service manager said that they had a coach come in with the generator shorted out. It seemed the drain came down on to the generator and somehow water caused a short. So, this true story is so that you will check to see that "your" drain tube protrudes far enough down to not short "anything" out. I just thought you would want something to do tomorrow.
