PIZZA IN A POT

1-1/2 lbs ground beef

1 medium green pepper, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

1-15oz can tomato sauce

1 jar (14 oz) pizza sauce

2 Tbsp tomato paste

3 cups spiral pasta, cooked and drained

2 pkgs (3-1/2 oz each) sliced pepperoni

2 cups (8 oz) shredded part skim mozzarella cheese

In a large skillet, cook the beef, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste and pizza sauce.

In a 5 qt slow cooker, layer the pasta, beef mixture, pepperoni and cheese. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through.

Yields 8 servings

**** you can substitute 1/2 lb. Italian sausage for the pepperoni. Just cook it along with the ground beef, pepper and onion.

You can serve it with a salad and a french or garlic bread. It is good. I make this for our boys when we are going to be gone on a trip and I have taken one with us when we travel for a quick lunch or dinner. I have also made it and put it in a bowl. Just dipped out the amount I wanted to eat and heated in the microwave. Just use your imagination. I think mushrooms and black olives would be a good addition as well. Just think Pizza and add your favorite toppings.
