1st Trip To The Fl Keys: Need Advice On RV Parks

Hello to everyone,

This our first trip to Fl. We are wanting to stay around St.Augustine/Flagler Beach for a 4 day stay and head towards the Keys and staying the next (last) 4 days in Key Largo or maybe even further south.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are leaving SC on 12/23 and hoping to arrive at first stop 12/24. Leaving there on 12/28 and arriving in the Keys area around 12/29 staying until the 2nd or 3rd.

We would also like advice on attractions along the way. Fairly energetic couple 50"s wanting to spend our 20th anniversary having a blast ! Thanks again for any advice !

Check out St. Andrews State Park in St. Augustine. It is close to all the attractions. The park is on the beach, but the camping area is a short distance from the beach. St. Augustine also has a KOA and a number of private parks. Be sure to have lunch at Barnacle Bills. It is just north of Old Town and the Fort.

Welcome to the FMCA forum. If you do not already have reservations, consider:

1. Stage Coach RV Park in the St. Augustine area. They are just off I95 exit 318. Their contact information is 904-824-2319. It is a short drive into St. Augustine and Camping World is at the same exit.

2. Sunshine Key RV Resort - Located at mile marker 39. It is a little farther south than Key Largo. Go to http://www.rvonthego.com/Sunshine-Key-RV-Resort.html to read about the resort. For me, the benefit is that Key West is 39 miles away . One can go a bit North or South and find many Key type activities. Bahia Honda state park is about a mile south of the resort. At the north end of 7 mile bridge (about 10 miles from the Resort) there is a restaurant with the best Key Lime pie.
