young Report post Posted April 5, 2011 Are you a Thousand Trails chapter member? Then join us at the Lynchburg, Va., preserve May 19 to 22. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the James River, Lynchburg is enriched with history galore. There will be some touring of Appomattox Court House, Patrick Henry National Memorial, D-Day Memorial. If you want to venture out more, there is Charlottesville consisting of Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn-Highland -- all homes of presidents; plus the Natural Bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Or, you may bask in the sun by the pool, fish in the lake or ride your bikes along some woodsy trails. For additional information, contact Gaye Young, chapter president, at carolinagirlrver@gmail.com or cell 919.632.2369.
