Jomida Report post Posted June 6, 2011 We are new owners of a 2004 Cruise Aire XL. The TV is located in the area of the dining table on the side wall of the bathroom, across from the refrigerator. The TV is built into a cabinet and is strapped or bolted down. Components for the TV were removed prior to our purchase and we now suspect that the TV was replaced with the existing one that we have now and not connected properly, if at all. The TV works fine for DVD's, video and wireless web, however, we cannot get antenna reception or reception when connected to cable. We would like to check the cable connections at the back of the TV. The only way that we can see to access the back of the TV is by removing the side wall of bathroom just below the wall cabinets. Has anyone had this issue or can anyone offer any suggestions for accessing the back control area of the TV? Regards, B
hlswaim Report post Posted November 15, 2011 If your TV was installed though the back of the cabinet you're only option may be to make yourself a small access panel that you can replace, like you said, through the wall in the bathroom. There shouldn't be any outlets on that wall but Just be careful not to cut through any electrical wires. Save the cut-out so you can glue a frame to act as a flange around the outside edges. Use your imagination on what to use (maybe a little silicon caulk) to secure it in place when you replace it. I've replaced both TVs in my coach to digital flat screen and in each case there was enough space between the front frame of the TV to get at screws holding the brackets that secure the frame to the opening of the cabinet. If you can remove the screws (usually 1 at each corner) the frame should come off giving you access to the mounting screws/bolts and brackets for the TV. If that doesn't work, look for evidence on the out side surface of the frame for hiden screw pockets. Those may be covered or filled with a plug that matches the wood color.
