Guest Wayne77590 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 We found Country Hills, in Marathon, NY, just a few miles from Binghamton. After travelling through Marathon (small town) and up the steep hill, we were on country road and the GPS, in a short while, took us to another narrow country road. Now when I say narrow, you have to move over to let the other fella pass. I had called ahead and asked the pertinent questions regarding their ability to handle 40 footer with TOAD and was assured they could. And, as we found out, they could. After paying the $28 for the night, the owner, Ron, got on his ATV 4 wheeler and escorted us AROUND the pond. A nice pond that sports other campers paddle boats and canoes (wish I had my Porta-bote.) All of the sites around the lake are either parellel parked or slanted back in, and all but two or three are occupied by what looks like permanent residents who come up for the weekend. The park is empty of people, just the trailers are here. One permanent MH up on the ridge on the other side of the pond, and then there is "us-uns." I'm in slanted pull through with plenty of room for TOAD (not even unhooking) with no one beside us. out our side window is a terraced slope and there are other RV's up the terrace with the closest one being about 50 yards away. The pull throughs have FHU with 50 amps. Miya (the puppy) enjoyed wading in the water. She could not read the "No Swimming" signs, and besides she was not swimming but "walking." If you are ever heading North on I-81 and need an overnighter, give them a call and check them out. Country Hills Campground, Marathon, NY
