teofff@gmail.com Report post Posted August 6, 2009 We had trouble finding anything real close to Raleigh...we ended up staying at the fairgrounds off I-40....back in sites, no frills..... but it was central to everything in Raleigh, and worked great for us. The price was $25 a night.

DoggyDaddy Report post Posted August 13, 2009 You may want to check out campgrounds at the William B. Umstead State Park located in Wake County, North Carolina, between Raleigh & Durham. If you a member the the VFW, American Legion or BPOE (Elks), you may want to check to see if any of the Posts or Lodges in Raleigh have RV facilities, many do. Guest Wayne77590 Report post Posted August 14, 2009 Try this: In your browser widow google maps which is (maps.google.com). In the Google Map search pane put in Raleigh, NC. Once the map comes up, again in the Google Map search pane type in Campgrounds the map will be populated with any CG's in the area. Try the same thing with maps.live.com (which used to be Microsoft Maps but has now merged with BING.) I prefer maps.live.com because of the birds eye views that it sometimes give you, but Google has now come up with Street View, but it sometimes does not give the same "birds eye" view that MS Maps does. Of course you can also use Google Earth once you get a location address. Good luck
