Equalizer Jacks Auto Level Problem

Motorhome is a class A gas Newmar Bay Star model 3209. Equalizer leveling system will not correctly auto level. I've followed the procedure to manually level then "set the null" as instructed. But then when using auto level the front wheels are raised off the ground.

When I manually level, I extend the front jacks until planted then the rear jacks until planted. Raise the front... then actually retract the rear jacks a little so I can extend the front a bit more without raising front tires off the ground. My driveway isn't overly slanted, so getting the coach level manually isn't a problem.

Is the auto level feature not capable of retracting jacks as necessary during the leveling procedure?
