About this blog

MOTOR HOME TIRES AND STORAGE.

Hi all hopefully tire man will comment on this.

I have read some other mags and blogs and the topic of tires and leveling jacks

have a little concern on my part.  Some say you should take the weight off the tires

while storage for the winter. Well, that could be done with raising the coach with the

leveling system but would have the shafts of the jacks expose to the weather .

Rust would be a concern. The article raised concern of tires flat spots and sidewalls concern.

So, Here it is ,  Do you block the rig off the ground,it would take a 5 ton jack,or; how much weight do you concern your self

with. I air tires to pressure 80 lbs before storage , and place the rig 'tires' on rubber 1 " mats.

But do nothing with the weight 9800 lbs on rear , 4400 lbs  on front. The unit

is a class C Winnebago Itasca Cambria 2014.
