Here a few trees stand all alone. This allows me to take a single picture that shows a whole tree, or most of it anyway. These trees are second growth trees, not the old growth seen in much of Olympic National Park. Old growth Douglas fir trees grow to diameters of 5 to 6 feet and stand as tall as 300 feet.
