About Me
We own a 2012 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 40 DFT, 3 Slides with 350 HP Maxxforce 10 diesel engine.
Even though it was manufacture in 2012 the 3 slide model floor plan was from 2013. Guess this is normal practice for motor home manufactures.
We purchased in 2014 with 20K on it and the second owner, with over 45 K miles now and NO problems we would highly recommend ! The Maxxforce 10 has been trouble free once the remapping recall was performed. (Big difference between the 10 and the Maxxforce 11 or 13 ) We have toadied many different vehicles from our first PT cruiser, Jeep Grand Cherokee to our current 2016 Grand Cherokee with no issues.
Upgrades we recommend, HydroFLOW water conditioner for scale and bacteria control. A must if you ask me, considering that most RV resorts have the sewer and water lines in the same proximity. Yikes. It's compact and fits on the cold water line to hot water tank. NEW tires! We replaced the factory tires in the fall of 2017 with Michelin 22.5- XZE2. What a difference they make in handling and tracking. Future improvements is replacing the air bed couch with recliners and maybe a fireplace/TV console (If not to expensive). Was in Yuma and dealer quoted me 20K. 😬 Will talk with Davis Cabinets out of Oregon to see what they will charge. Hopefully within our budget..
