I did look at the route however the GPS I had at the time didn’t allow you to fix your route. For some reason it rerouted coming out of Jackson and by the time I figured it out it was too late. Clearly user error! We have upgraded to a unit that is geared to RV and allows for fixing the route.

Got comfortable and end of the day all on me!

  2. 10% grade and 20 mph curves for about eight miles. Our GPS sent us that way and was too late to turn around by the time we figured it out. I don’t think we would have made it down without losing brakes  if we didn’t have the Jake brake . Only time I was truly concerned behind the wheel! The entire area is amazing and a must go just stay on Hwy 26. Here’s Wyoming’s warning

  3. We retired last year and did Illinois to west coast. By the time we got to Oregon we booked all campgrounds for the rest of the trip. With the increase in Rv sales things were pretty much full everywhere from Colorado west. We didn’t stay anywhere that wasn’t full by dark even on weekdays. Takes some of the adventure out of it but that’s the way it is. Redwoods we’re definitely worth seeing but 200 miles is more than enough for a day drive there. Pagosa Springs in Colorado was our favorite place, easy to fill a week at least and still not see everything in the area. Enjoy the trip! Breaking the vacation mode is a harder adjustment then it would seem. FYI steer clear of Teton pass!

I am also glad classifieds are not in the forums and did not suggest they should be. Not sure how else to say it but I am not suggesting any type of advertisement whatsoever in the forums, period! My comment was directed to FMCA on a forum titled FMCA feedback. The original message was regarding something I thought might be beneficial to members and FMCA and was intended for FMCA staff. Appears a staff change might have resulted in the monitoring of this page falling through the cracks. If not then this page should be shut down.

As to the magazine, if you wanted to place an add the deadline has already closed for the March issue.

  5. 37 years in a customer service career taught me that listening to your customers is of utmost importance. Every once in a while there will be a valuable piece of information you can use or problems you can address before they get out of hand.

I would argue that the best way to increase membership is getting all of us singing the praises of belonging to FMCA. There has to be communication with the membership beyond a magazine and offers to sell products or renewals to accomplish this. Frankly I joined for the assist program. I have since found there is a lot of value having access to these forums, especially for technical issues. I’m not sure it’s enough to convince others to join.

I have to agree that someone on staff should be monitoring this forum, appears it’s done for Facebook and other socials.

  6. We have a IPad with a Verizon air card unlimited plan. The iPad hotspot is the only internet Source we have At home and in the Motorhome. It appears the iPad has a stronger card than the phones, we were north of Yellowstone last year and both of our Verizon phones had no service but were able to use Prime and Hulu on tvs connected to the iPad.

  7. I’m curious how COVID has impacted snowbirds this year. For those of you that are already out what has your experience been? I’ve heard from folks that went to Arizona that are cutting the trip short or moving to another state.

We are heading south later this month, to where remains the question...

  8. Silver leaf does not work. Monitor panel shows 13.5 on house and coach batteries. Batteries were replaced last year. Not sure which inverter it is but will check. Monitor panel shows a/c fault on shore power, not sure if this is related.

it is indeed a small club Doc, we have covered 6200 miles this year and have not seen another one.
