  1. We just purchased a 2000 Class A motorhome and want to subscribe to Dish or DirecTV and have questions re roof antennas. We want a roof antenna used only when we are stopped (in-motion not necessary). In talking to Dish and DirecTV their salesmen both say installation on an RV is free, just like in your home. But when I query them about wanting to speak to their installation people (usually independent subcontractors) to verify both the type of equipment and free install they say they cannot provide any contact info. I must first sign up for a two year plan AND THEN an installer will come out. At that time I will get my answers. What has been your experience with these two companies re installation? Thanks, Bill Eggert
  2. If you are planning on seeing Santa Fe, you will want to camp there for several days. Santa Fe has so many attractions...history, museums, art, architecture, fabulous food, that just a day-trip from Albuquerque won't do! We stayed at an RV park just south of Santa Fe called Santa Fe Skies RV Resort. We had beautiful red/purple sunsets and views of the night-lights of Santa Fe. You can't walk into Santa Fe from there, so hopefully you'll have a toad. I'm told the RV parks in town are very tight and crowded, although I haven't seen them. Being from Denver, we've spent lots of time in Santa Fe; there are not a lot of trees except on the town square, but the desert landscape is quite lovely. 3. We will be driving South from Mackinaw City to the Indiana border in June, and would like to take the scenic Hwy 31 the whole way down. We have a number of questions: Is Hwy 31 friendly for our 41' MotorHome towing a VW bug? Can we take Hwy 119 from Bayview to Cross Village, or should we plan on just taking the toad? Do we need reservations at the nicer parks (Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Traverse Bay RV Resort, Oak Grove Resort in Holland, etc.) from early June onward? We would like to keep our itinerary flexible, but don't want to miss a chance to stay at some nicer parks. Also, any suggestions on "Must-See's" and Must-Eats would be appreciated. We are foodies who like scenic roads and cute towns. This is our first trip to this part of the USA, and we are excited. Thanks, beggert Denver, CO
  4. The newer beetles. We're looking at years 2003 to 2005. Thanks, Beggert
  5. Is anyone flat- towing a VW beetle? The manual says you can only tow it for 50 miles and a max of 50 mph. We plan on going 300 to 400 miles and 60 mph. Thanks. Beggert
