Hi, I have a 2002 Mini Cooper S manual transmission that I have been towing all four down for the past four years behind my class A and I have not had any problems. I use the Brake Buddy and the only problem I had was the attachment that goes around the brake pedal kept coming loose so I cut a heaver piece of polyurethane and drilled a hole through the piece and also through the brake pedal and attached the piece to the pedal with a bolt & nut and it solved the problem. The only other thing I might mention is I had to use a hitch drop down adapter and you need to watch going in and out of some drives as the adapter tends to bottom out on steeper driveways. Hope this helps.

I own a Tandem Tow Dolly to haul my Golfcart & Car. I purchased the trailer in Aug 13 and used it to go to Fl leaving our home in Aurora,IL on Christmas Day. The trailer worked great only problem we had was going through southern IL on Rt 47 we were about a 1/4 mile behind a salt truck and when we arrived in FL we found that the salt had chipped the paint off from the trailer. When we came home in April 14 and I was able to look under the trailer and found that most of the paint was chipped from the frame & axle and my brand new trailer looked about 10 years old completely covered with rust. I contacted the Manufacturer in North Carolina and they refused to warranty the paint chipping because I towed the trailer on a road where salt was being used! I could not believe they would not stand behind the paint job but they told me to read the the warranty and it states they will not cover paint damage from road salt. Even though the trailer was less than a year old I got nothing from them, however they said if I wanted to bring it by they would take a look at it... Well being 1500 miles away that was not an option for me. I ended up having to replace the front amber clearence lights because they rusted away inside, then I had to purchase new plastic wear pads that go under the wheel pans (where the front car wheels sit on the trailer) and I had to purchase those from the manufacturer they would not even replace them for free. I sanded the rust off the best that I could then I repainted the trailer using a product called IRON ARMOUR. Hope this info helps. you can contact me @ my email apdk94@yahoo.com if you would like any more info about the trailer.

Tandem Towing Dolly Experience
Podschweit replied to mpierce's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
You should check with the State that you live some require plates on a tow dolly & some don't, like Illinois as long as the vehicle being towed has valid plates the tow dolly does not need to be plated. -
Tandem Towing Dolly Experience

Wanted to give an up date on my Tandem Tow Dolly, I contacted Elite Metal Performance about the paint chipping off the trailer and the lady I spoke with asked if I could send photos which I did and then she called me back about three days later and said that because road salt caused the paint to chip & then the metal to rust they would not repair the trailer. I tried to argue the fact that the trailer that cost me $5,670.00 is less than a year old and that I should be able to use it in the winter weather they still would not agree to repair the paint damage, but she did say if I wanted to bring it back to the factory they would take a look at it but she never said that they would repair the damage. I did consider taking the trailer back to them but the cost involved and the 1600 mile round trip would not be cost effective for me. We are also members of Good Sam so I wrote to Good Sam Action Line about the problem with my trailer and Action Line said they would contact Elite Metal Performance and after 30 days if they get no response they would attempt a second contact and then if there is no response after 20 days they would close the case. So for now just waiting for Elite Metal Performance to respond to Action Line I still have some hope that they will stand behind their product and make this right. In closing I would recommend that anyone thinking of purchasing the Tandem Tow Dolly from Elite Metal Performance in Mooresville NC ask if it is ok to use the trailer in the winter on roadways where salt is used. -
Tandem Towing Dolly Experience

I purchased a Tandem Tow Dolly August 2013 from the manufacturer which is Elite Metal Performance 117 Infield Ct Mooresville,NC 28117 704-663-4358. I picked my up in NC and I used it for the first time going from Illinois to Florida for the winter, I take my golf cart & tow my Mini Cooper. I love the trailer they are expensive but in my opinion well worth the cost. I did have some issues with the paint chipping off 90% of the frame which I am not happy at all about because they claim the trailers are powder coated, I read the warranty and it states in the paint warranty that of paint is damaged by road salt it will not be covered under warranty. While traveling through southern Illinois we did drive through snow and the highway had been salted and when we stopped in Kentucky I found salt on the trailer and cleaned it off but could not wash the trailer due to the weather. I spoke with a local sandblaster/powder coating company and they want $1000.00 to sandblast & powder coat the frame. I have not spoken with Elite about the problem but I sent an email using their website about a week ago and they have not yet responded so I plan on calling them tomorrow . Hopefully being that the trailer is less than a year old they will take care of the paint problem but I will have to wait & see. Either way I have no regrets buying the Tandem Tow Dolly. Hope this info helps. -
I Have a 2008 Monaco Knight, I noticed a puddle of water on the floor by the hall 1/2 bath. Upon inspection I found that water was leaking from under the sink in the 1/2 bath coming from a valve called Anti Siphon Vacuum Breaker. The leak was under the chrome cap on top of this valve. I purchased a replacement valve and after installing the new valve I found that it is also leaking. Could someone maybe point me in the right direction to look as to why this valve is leaking. Thanks

Refrigerator Condensation Problem
Podschweit replied to Podschweit's topic in Systems and Appliances
Thanks I will check all of those things out. -
I have a 2008 Monaco Knight with a 12C Dometic 4 dr fridge. On a recent trip to Florida I noticed considerable condensation inside of the fridge-- so much that water was dripping from the inside top of fridge which is the area under the freezer so we used paper towels to wipe out the water. If anyone has or had this same issue I would like to know what can be done to eliminate the problem. Thanks Randy Podschweit F413678

I currently tow my 2002 Mini behind my Monaco Knight I use a Blue Ox car mount and my Mini is also a standard 6 speed trans I just put the car in "N"(if trans were an automatic you could not tow with all wheels on the ground) and leave the key in the ignition that keeps the steering unlocked, I also mounted separate lights in the back of my Mini and ran the wires up to the front of the Mini & then plug into my coach, the only problem I had was when I tried using the Evenbrake system I had to purchase a relay and add it to the brake light switch of the Mini and also the clamp that goes onto the brake pedal is not the best fit but it does work.
