  1. Here is road side service story.

My wife and I were headed home (Georgetown) from Corpus Christi on a late Sunday evening and pull off the interstate to get diesel at George West . Left the coach running while I went in to pay and start the pumps. Wife went to walk the dog. Upon returning could not open the door. Had the keys so I locked it and unlock it and still the latch would not work. had several people try and still locked out.

We both left our cell phones in the coach so I had to use the station"s phone ( lesson learned-always have cell phone on you when you leave the coach). Call my service provider and they tried to get a locksmith at the remote location. After a two hour wait with the coach burning up my fuel- decided to break a window and crawl in. Indoor latch open the door with no problem.

with wife in coach and me outside tried the door probably 50 times and it work every time.

After a $300.00 bill fixing the broken window- we now leave one window unlocked when traveling.

  2. Question- I check my tire pressure when cold ( before the day's drive) and find one tire 3 lbs lower than I usually run. I don't have the equipment at the park to add air. Is it OK to add air at the fuel station. Like you measure the tire after you have driven- then add 3 lbs to that reading.

    Will that be acceptable ?

  3. Was wondering the same. I am a active scrollsawer and plan to carry with me when I go full time. Good ideal about mounting it to plywood sheet and clamping to picnic table.

Alot of the stuff I make require a drill press and router table so will probably need to change what I make.

  4. So what you are saying is that it was not cycling but a fan just making a noise? Or is it cycling and the reason you can tell it was cycling because the fan motor was bad and making noise.

Well my question to you then is it still cycling too often but you just don't hear it so you now don't care. Are you covering up the actual root of the problem?

Just getting back to the thread- the new fan is working fine and is so quiet I can barely hear it- from what I can tell it doesn't cycle now. This past weekend drove a 300 mile trip in 95 degree heat and everything is cooling as it should.

Thanks again for all you help.

  5. They work fine and then stop for a few seconds ... then work fine for a while. I pushed around on the wire and can't make it happen. Also replaced the 5-amp fuse. It might be a ground, but I don't know where to start looking. Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes, I think a gremlin is in the dash.

  6. Yes - I know you can do it. when buying our first Class A my wife was required to drive it off the lot and accept some driving responsiblities. She did great. Whenever we have to back into a overnite space- I am the spotter and she backs it in.

We recently bought a new Class A and she has watched all the operations needed to operate- even the toad.

There is a learning curve and it helps to know how things work- but ask on this forum and someone will set forward to help.

Good luck and see you down the Road

  7. CC stand for Country Coach- it has a Cat C9400 HP and the condenser coil is located in front under the passenger area. There is an electric fan to blow air across coil that cycles regularly (like every minute) and runs for 15 seconds.

AC works fine except the fan is loud and was wondering if the short run cycle was normal.

  8. Recently purchased a 2007 CC Tribute. While driving with the dash air on, the condenser coil fan cycles every minute and runs about 15 seconds, then starts over again. It is producing cold air. The noise from the fan is annoying while sitting in the passenger seat. Wondering if its operating correctly. Never heard one cycle so often.

  9. Hi Rhuffhines,

Welcome to the FMCA forums. This topic was discussed recently on the forum. Go to

Happy future motorhoming to you both.

    Chuck

Thanks for the post. I look forward to participating on this forum.

If goes as planned will purchase a 2007 Tribute and my wife and I will go full time in August of this year.

  10. My wife and I are considering purchasing a 2007 Tribute 260 that comes with a rear radiator vs what I usually see as side mounted radiators in this weight and engine size (Caterpillar C9 400 HP) coach. Need help in deciding whether one application is better than the other.

Also what has been your experiences if you own a motor home with a 400 HP diesel and rear mounted radiator.
