We will be full timing in the southwest this year. Thousand trails seems to have a good offer on the table. $499 for one sector, for a year, plus discounts at Encore camps. Any comments, pro or con? Cheers Paul

We have a 30 Ft Fourwinds Citation Type C. it has the usual awning, that can be extended. We find it not all that useful, as we use a dining tent and other shade options. Now, with the cost of gas rising, I am wondering if removing the awning would improve the airflow over the unit and improve gas mileage. Any suggestions. Thanks again folks. Paul

We had a problem with the gas line. We had installed a valve assembly to allow us to add an exterior bottle to our RV (2008 Four Winds Chateau) Then we closed off the on board gas and used the bottle. The onboard tank tank was left full. Eventually we took the outside bottle off. We turned on the furnace and water heater. The furnace only blew cold air. We could hear the water heater clicking, but off course, no hot water. I used the forums here to figure out that one had to open the valve sloooowly, to avoid the system locking up. That did not solve the problem, but it did point the way. I figured out that the system had worked properly before the new valve was used,and had worked when the exterior bottle was installed. Maybe the check valve was responding to a real leakage spot, and if so, logically, it must be between the on board tank and the new valve. So, I unscrewed the valve where it met the interior tank, and re attached it carefully. Problem solved.. BUT.... The stove and the furnace work fine. The water heater does not. I suspect there were one or two many clicks when it tried to start with no propane, but I thought that the system would have been designed for this to happen, and work around it. Any thoughts on this? Cheers Paul

Update: Thanks for all the help. I located the panel on the bedroom wall. How many times have I looked at that wall and not noticed. When I removed it, everything was bone dry and no sign of moisture, so its not the taps. We have used the camp ground showers for a few days, and the rug is drying, but slowly because its a very wet April north of Toronto. It looks like the gap is the problem, so I plan to caulk it with a robust silicone caulk. I also wrote the manufacturer and won't act until I hear from them. Thanks again Paul

I am having a water infiltration problem near my shower. The unit is a 30-foot Fourwinds Chateau. The shower is beside the bedroom, and the wall they share hold the tap and head. Right where the corridor meets the bedroom, outside the shower, there is a lip about 2-inch-high, carpeted. This makes the bedroom floor 2 inches above the rest of the unit floor. It has been wet for weeks. Not all, of it, but in the middle. Like most showers in RVs, there is a molded floor with a lip on it, and a vinyl wall. This lips forms a little tub as the base of the shower. There are small gaps in the join between the sides of the shower and the bed of the shower. I assume there must be an overlap so water should not penetrate the wall. Maybe this has shifted. Other culprits may be the shower head or tap, or the drain. Does the drain cross under the bedroom floor to get to the water tank? I was thinking of caulking the edge where the wall meets the floor, using a viscous silicone caulk. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
