I am a retired 747 captain and my wife is a retired medical practicioner, having lived in Wyoming for the last 23 years. Our current motorhome is a Newmar Dutchstar we bought new in 2012. We have a number of horses on our thirty-five acres, as well as two labs, Bonnie and Boomer, that let us live in the main house with them. We started motorhoming in 2010, determined to see as much of our beautiful country as possible while we are physically able to do so. We have never taken our labs with us on our trips out of concern one or both might run off and not be found. Our dogs have always had free run of our property, have never been on a leash or confined in a vehicle for longer than it takes to get them to "Doggie Disneyland" while we are away from home. Having horses and dogs that don't travel means we don't get to get away from home for more than 6 or 7 days at a time, so we pack as much as possible into those days. As much as we enjoy rving, we also have the bus as an alternate living space in case it becomes necessary to "bug out" from our home for whatever reason, and it makes a dandy place to retreat to when the house is full of out of town guests. We are thoroughly enjoying retirement.
