With 600 watts of solar on the roof of my 2000 Georgie Boy and another 150 watts from a portable panel, we rarely need to run our generator (just for the microwave). While we'll probably never save enough gasoline to make back the cost of the system, we save a lot by being able to dry camp for little or no cost, for up to two weeks at a time. I bought the components from various sources and installed them myself. Two Trojan T-105's store enough power to run our CPAPs, charge phones and laptops, run a small TV and all the LED lights, and usually be completely recharged by noon the next day. After the batteries are full I sometimes run the fridge on the inverter, and we frequently run a small crock pot while we go out sightseeing during the day. We really like the freedom and flexibility that our solar system gives us.
