The motorhome is a 2002 Beaver Marquis. Gerald

The towing guide goes back to 1999 and does not mention the Nissan. I don't have a specific year/drivetrain in mind, but have seen a few older than 1999 that are in good shape and would work for me if they are towable. Gerald

Does anyone know if the older Nissan Hardbody pickups can be towed four down? Gerald

Apparently my inverter/charger does not charge the chassis batteries, so I would like to hook up a battery tender to them. What is the correct way to do this? Gerald

I have a Prosine 2500 inverter/charger in my motorhome. When connected to shore power, the house batteries charge, but the chassis batteries do not. The motor does charge the chassis batteries. I have read and reread the manual, but have no clue what to do. Can someone help? Even thinking about electrical issues makes my head hurt. Gerald

For those of you who have been to eastern Canada, we are looking at making a trip to the Nova Scotia area next summer. We won't have much time (maybe 3 weeks max) before we will need to head back home to Texas. Will we need a toad, or can we tour in our 40' MH? When we went to Alaska in a truck camper, we just spent one or two nights in a spot and then moved on. We saw a lot of territory that way. Are there areas that we could just sit in for days at a time and rent a car to tour in? I currently don't have a car that can be towed 4 down and am trying to decide if I should buy a tow dolly for the Prius. Gerald

In my new to me MH (2002 Beaver), the roof top satellite doesn't work. A tech ran me through a series of tests and determined that the cpu and gyros were defective and the unit will have to be replaced. Can someone recommend a good replacement, and can the oem wiring be used? Gerald

Problem solved - thanks. Gerald

I don't know the model # of the system, but it is an older MH (2002). The switch panel in your photo is similar to mine, but I have no electric switch, just the engine preheat and the diesel burner switch. Gerald

My 2002 Beaver Marquis has the AquaHot system. I know it has an electric heating element as well as the diesel burner. The tech person at the dealer where I bought it says there is a switch that will turn off the electric element, but I can not find it. Does anyone know about this switch and where it might be located? I have looked all over the inside of the coach. Gerald

I have an inverter question. The inverter is a Prosine 2500 unit in a 2002 Beaver motorhome. We are full-timers and our motorhome sits for periods hooked up to shore power. We rarely boondock when on the road, so should the inverter be turned off when we are stationary? Gerald

Will a standard vent cover work with a fantastic fan vent, or is there a special type needed? Gerald

Are there any small pickups, Nissan, Toyota, for ex. that are towable four down? Also, are all models of the Honda CRV towable four down? Gerald

The seats in my Beaver coach are made of leather or leather like material. What should I use to clean, protect them? Gerald

Six 6 VDC Batteries Or Three 12 VDC Batteries
geraldlanc replied to geraldlanc's topic in Electrical
Would the reduction to 4 batts and less amp hours have a harmful effect on the coaches electrics such as converter/inverter/charger etc? Four 6 volts would provide ample power for an overnight stay for us. Our fridge is not a residential and we don't need the microwave, ac, hairdryer, etc. Gerald -
Six 6 VDC Batteries Or Three 12 VDC Batteries

The inverter is a pro sine 2500 and an overnight stay would mean using the water pump, minimal lights and my wife's cpap machine (it will run all night on just one 12 volt batt). Gerald -
I have 6 6 volt house batts in our coach. When it comes time to replace them, would 3 12 volt batteries work as well? We don't boondock at all and really don't even need such a large battery bank. The service advisor where we bought the coach suggested that using fewer batteries might do harm to other system components such as the inverter/charger. Gerald
-
The coach does have a ProSine 2500 watt inverter that will power many appliances on the coach, but I never need it. I know that it charges the batteries, but I don't use it to power anything in the coach. The fifth wheel we had before this did not have an inverter at all and we never needed one. Why do I need this one? Please excuse my naiveté , but I am electrically impaired! Gerald

My Beaver coach has 6 house batts plus 2 more for the chassis. Why so many house batteries? We don't boondock or spend much time off the grid. We will occasionally stay overnite at WalMart or a truck stop, but any power needs we have are taken care of by the massive geneset. Sometimes all we need is the water pump and a light or two. I know the slides need a lot of juice, but we don't have to move the slides. So why do I need 6 house batts, and what would a safe minimum be when I have to replace them? Gerald

Salesman switch???

I noticed that one of the negative battery cables is corroded at the terminal and back into the wire itself. Should I try to clean it, or replace it? If I remove it, should I turn off the disconnect switch for the house and coach batteries while I am working on it? If I replace it, I will have to go to a welding shop?? and have them make up a replacement as it is only about 6 inches long. I might as well remove (one at a time) and clean the terminals on all the wires while I'm at it? I have no experience with so many batteries in one place and need lots of advice! Gerald

My new to me Beaver coach has a power reel for the 50 amp cord. The first time I tried to retract it, the motor quit about halfway in and made a clicking noise like a starter/dead battery. I started the coach and then the reel worked perfectly. Can someone explain what is going on? Gerald

Our new to us Beaver MH has an Advantium convec/micro oven. Is it normal for it to vent into the coach? The first time we used it, the grill at the top of the unit was"sucking"air into the unit on the right half of the grill opening and blowing hot air from the oven from the other. Needless to say, it got rather hot in the coach waiting for the dish to bake. I expected all the hot air to go outside. Anyone have a similar unit? Gerald

We have recently purchased a 2002 Beaver Marquis. I have an adjustable pressure controller on the outside of the coach, and would like to know what the maximum safe water pressure should be set to? Gerald
