  1. Well the Beast has been re-named to Ivan the Beast in honor of our resident alley cat who passed away. Anyway Ivan is now running down the road with her new interior finished and the body work done and primed. Took the GMC to 3 summer music fests and then to Burning Man. I am building new panels for the ceiling of my 73. I'm using curly Redwood.
  9. I'm installing the panels in the ceiling that I made in my shop. Hand made from Curly Redwood with 3 coats of Spar varnish. This remodel has been quite the experience. I'm looking at 2 more months until its 99% done. Then a shake down run and final stuff.
  10. I have a 1973 GMC motor coach with an Oldsmobile 455 with Howell fuel injection. Does anyone have any experience resetting the warm idle speed? Mine idles warm at a bit over 1000RPM. The Beast Master
  11. Working on the re-model of the Beast. I must say it is a challenge to be sure. Starting from an empty shell is a plus in so many ways. With the GMC you also have to deal with the body curve. Once you have the proper templates made it's so much easier. Then it becomes a geometry exercise. It's times like these I'm glad I paid some attention in my math classes. So when a kid asks "Why do I need to know this stuff?" I can show him. It took me about 15 working days to strip out the old interior, another 9 replace everything on the roof, AC, vent fans, plumbing vents and reseal all the windows. Then do all the body work to seal up the endless leaks before I put a single stick of wood inside. At present I have framed the bedroom up and most of the bathroom in preparation of curly redwood Victorian inspired interior. I post pictures as I go.
