Check to make sure the output of your DirecTV receiver is attached to corresponding input on the video selector. The coax cables from the sat dish must go to the DirecTV receiver and the output from that receiver (coax, RCA, Composite, HDMI, DVI, etc) that would normally go to the TV now goes to the Video selector.
