  1. I am considering using the following mounts to attached a solar panel to my Class C RV with a rubber roof. Instapark ZJ03W Drill-free Solar Panel Roof Corner Mount Rack Bracket Kit NEW http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTUwMFgxNTAw/$T2eC16hHJI!E9qSO-ShmBQG1BPveYg~~60_57.JPG And Instapark ZJ04W Drill-free Solar Panel Roof Mount Rack Rail Bracket Support Kit http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTUwMFgxNTAw/$(KGrHqJ,!qIF!O!U(of8BQG1HIzcD!~~60_57.JPG Example installation from RV solar system DIY Question I have is with a rubber roof that is basically glued down, is their any issues with gluing these mounts to the rubber roof? Will this work on a rubber roof? Thanks
  2. I installed a 32 inch Insignia TV that happened to have the same DC connection as my Jensen 19 inch. The 32 inch and smaller insignia TV's at best buy have the DC plug (the ones I looked at) so you could run it off the DC line in your coach. You could also get a small 80-100 watt inverter that can plug into your TV DC port (cigarette lighter type port) and run the TV off of that. Depends on the wattage of the TV but most LED TV in the 32 inch and lower range don't use a lot of power. I chose to get the Insignia since it can be run directly from DC with the correct DC cable. They are also reasonably priced and you can get a 4 year extended warranty fairly cheap from Best Buy. My 2 cents
  3. Cherry Hill was a great place to stay. We where there in June (one of our stops on our cross country trip) and really like the place. It was easy taking the bus to the metro station and going anywhere in DC that the metro line takes you. you can also buy passes for the tour bus lines in DC that allow you to hop on and off at any of there stops. Made it easy to get to the various sites.
  4. We went up through Buffalo across the Peace bridge. Didn't have any issues crossing. They asked for our passport, verified everyone via the picture. Asked a few question about eggs, dairy, fruits and veggies (we didn't have any). Also asked about any personal protection like tasers, gun's, pepper spray etc. The border guard was surprised we didn't have anything. I found that funny. Yes we did take the train into the Grand Canyon from the Williams station. We stayed the the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park so it was a short walk. They did offer free shuttle service to any location on their property. You just had to call the office and request to be picked up. The train ride is a bout 2hrs and 15 minutes each way so you only get 3 hours to walk around the Grand Canyon. For us that was enough since we had little kids.
  5. We survived our trip. We added a few extra stops along the way as we had time. I added links to the camp sites we stayed at just in case anyone is interested. Pictures and videos posted here. All are from my camera, still need to upload from my wife’s 2015 Cross County RV vacation - Dias Family Started from Lincoln Ca  Hemingway South Carolina to visit my wife’s Brother and his family. We also picked up my Father-in-law who flew into SC from Italy o Stayed a day to visit and rest. We made it from Lincoln California in 4 days. Very aggressive driving  Virginia Beach – Father-in-law wanted to visit a few friends there  Washington DC – Checked out a number of the Smithsonian museums and local sites o We stayed at a great RV park called Cherry Hill Park o City bus came right to the park and took you to the metro line. You could also sign up for 1 day and 2 day tours. We decided to do our own thing and walk around  Gettysburg Pennsylvania – had time so we went and checked out the Gettysburg museum  Hershey Pennsylvania – Couldn’t miss checking out the Hershey chocolate factory and spent a few days at the amusement park o Stayed at the Hersheypark Camping Resort o They had a free shuttle to the Amusement park. Very nice park, we had a spot along a creek and could hear the water at night. Little ray played in the water  Niagara Falls – we went to the Canadian side and took a few tours o We stayed at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Niagara Falls, Ontario o Lots of things for the kids to do and they had an inexpensive shuttle to the falls  Graceland, Nashville Tennessee – had some time so we checked out Elvis’s museum and Mansion o We just passed through but saw an RV park right next to Graceland  Krum Texas – stayed at my brother’s ranch. Kids had fun playing with all their cousins and riding horses  Grand Canyon Arizona – Pictures do not do the depth of the place at all. You get a little woozy looking over the edge o We stayed at the GRAND CANYON RAILWAY RV PARK o We took the train ride into the Grand Canyon. At 2 hrs and 15 minutes it was a little long for the little ones and you only had 3 hours to walk around. We only saw the south rim areas and would have gone to the north side if we had a car.  Las Vegas Nevada – Took a day and walked around Vegas at night. Can’t beat the light show o Stayed at the Circus Circus RV park o Basically a parking lot with RV hookups but it was right next to the casino and not too far from the monorail  South Lake Tahoe California – We stayed near the lake to watch the 4th of July fireworks. o We stayed at Camp Richardson Hotel & Resort o A little rough getting in and out but not too bad. The beach wasn’t too far of a walk across the road.  Back home late afternoon- unpacked, and put the RV to rest o Total miles ~7,600

We stayed at the Tahoe Valley RV Resort for a wedding recently. Youngest kids played in the snow for the first time.
