  1. We have repaired the source of the water leaks on the roof of the Winnebago Ultimate and now need info on how to clean the water stains on the ceiling fabric. Does anyone have the answers??

I would try Blue Coral carpet and uphostery cleaner in the auto dep. at Walmart or Auto Zone.. Try a spot that won't show somewhere, if it works try the spots..

  2. We have a Tuscany 2008 and we want to clean spots on the shades.

Any suggestions on what to use?

We got tired of trying to clean them, the pleets were no longer pleets in the night part, just seemed like we were allows having to mess with them from the get go.. But they were 8 years old too..So we changed them out to the new MCD American duo day-night shades.. So far they're great..

  3. We have an older class A Motorhome. We are looking for suggestions on how to remove the ugly grey spots on the white rubber gasket that surrounds the door on the outside. We have Googled this and have tried all home remedies: bleach water, rubbing alcohol, etc. Any commercial product we have tried has not worked.

    Can anyone help us??

    Thanks

I would try Wesley's white side wall tire cleaner.

  4. I was looking for some expression of thought about the new Indiana RV Excise Tax. Called the BMV and was told that the tax is based on the value posted by the manufacturer when new.

I then asked the tax rate - didn't know. How does this tax compare with other States?

The excise tax on our '03 moho would have doubled over the personal property tax rate, and it would be every year.. It would, or should, go down as the moho gets older and loses value.. Plus you pay sales tax when you buy it in Indiana or if you buy in another state you pay the difference in sales tax to Indiana, or if the other state doesn't have sales tax, you pay all the Indiana sales tax.. For being the RV capital of the world they(Indiana) donen't treat the RV industry very well for the residents of Indiana..

  5. I have a friend that has a company that makes magnetic oil drain plugs for cars and motorcycle engines. These magnets aren't normal magnets but really really strong ones. They are also designed to work under high temperatures. Something I didn't know, but normal magnets lose up to half their "pull" when exposed to high temps. Anyway, I asked if he could make one for my Cummins ISL 400 engine and he said he could. It attracts fine metal fragments that circulate in the engine. I assumed the oil filter would strain them out, but the particles he showed me on a drain plug are apparently so fine, they will pass thru a normal oil filter. He also has these little super duper magnets he places on the outside of an oil filter. He cut one in half after use and you could see a mound of metallic powder gunk clinging to the side of the filter where the magnets were placed. These magnets are so strong, he did a demonstration, he put one on the table, them put a fork about a foot away on the table, the fork went flying across the table and latched on to the magnet!

Do you think this would be a good idea to put one on a diesel engine or are diesel's not affected by metallic fragments as much as a gas engine? I was going to give him the specs for my drain plug and have him make one for my engine and maybe try the magnets on the oil filter too, but thought I'd check here to see what others thought. I don't want to mess up my engine just because something sounds like a good idea. Could such strong magnets interfere with the electronic in the engine??

Are you sure there isn't one on the drain plug now?? Our "B" engine has one and it's an '03.. I would have thought that all newer engines would have one too..

Yes it would be good to have one if there isn't one now..

  6. Anyone out there ever used Rid-X for your Black or Grey tanks? It is sold for septic tanks.

My concern is would it work fast enough for R.V.'s .It is Green friendly. Any thoughts ?

Don, we use Blue Dawn(1 cap) and liquid Calgon(2 caps), using the Calgon bottle cap.. We also have used most everything out there without success.. We have never had a problem with odors from the gray tank but have with the Black tank.. I would suggest, if you haven't already, you install one of the rotating vents for, at least, the Black tank.. We got the metal one, can't remember the name, but it took away almost all of the odor, except while flushing..

  7. I would check the sensors on the air tank, engine oil, levelers, water in fuel, and so fourth, if you get my drift.. I have sealed all of these up and we don't get any chimes in the rain anymore.. Trouble is, I did them all at once and now I don't know which one it was, but I guess I don't care since we got it stopped.. Good luck with your hunt..

    Mike..
