  1. Yes I did check the owner's manual. I also called Hyundai customer service and a local Hyundai dealer. None of them were helpful. The owner's manual speaks of pulling a trailer but not towing behind a motorhome. I did look up the 2010 Guide to Dinghy Towing and also called Remco who told me that it appears that we can tow the car all wheels down but wanted to see if someone out there has the vehicle and has done it as we cannot seem to disconnect the battery by pulling a fuse.
  2. Hi everyone! I hope all are having a great time enjoying what we do...traveling and camping! We just purchased a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe which is 6 speed manual transmission with 2wd. We were told it could be flat towed all 4 wheels down and had the baseplate installed. We just can't seem to find anywhere if there are fuses that have to be pulled as we did in our prior toad, a 2003 Saturn Ion. Has anyone ever towed a Hyundai Santa Fe and if so, did you do anything in addition to putting the key to "acc" and putting the car in neutral? Also, does the mileage add on the odometer when you are traveling? Thank you to all who answer and enjoy your summer!
  3. Hi - Has anyone stayed or ever heard of a place in Cream Ridge, NJ called Laurel Pond Luxury Wilderness Lodge and RV Ultra Sites? I came across this site and it looks amazing and found out they rent out sites on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. It just seems so untrue to find a campground that will be spacious (claims 100' x 50' site), have a beautiful site setting with lawn furniture, hot tub, fireplace pit, heated gazebo, etc. for only $64.50 per night. I tried looking online for any reviews but haven't found any so I was wondering if any members had heard of this place or been there and can give me some insight. The owner that I spoke with claims it is fairly new and that we will thoroughly enjoy it and there is no place around that is like his camp (usually a speech to get you to go to their place!). Please, if anyone has any information on this place, please contact me. He claims to be about 30 minutes from Point Pleasant Beach. Thanks.
  4. Has anyone stayed at Bakers Acres Campground in New Jersey? It is supposed to be 9 miles to Long Beach Island. I have read some reviews and one person absolutely loved it and the other person was the total opposite so I am wondering if anyone has any comments or have stayed there. The woman that I called at the campground told me the sites are small and with our big rig, we would fit lengthwise but wouldn't have much width room so we are continuously looking for a nice big rig friendly site along the NJ shoreline. Any help please?
  5. thanks for your help. I did call the Chamber of Commerce who gave me 3 campgrounds and a 4th that is 40 minutes away from a beach. I am open to any shore point idea from the northern tip of NJ to the southern tip as I figure it may take about 4 1/2 - 5 hours to get to the Cape May point and if we leave early enough on a Friday, that should give us a nice weekend and some time to get home after checkout.

  7. We're trying to take a weekend this month to go to the Jersey Shore with friends who aren't campers who may possibly be staying at a motel instead of with us in the RV. We are looking for a campground that is close to a shore point that has a boardwalk and amusements as we both have small children. Does anyone know of a nice family-oriented campground in the Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant area? We are not really shore people so we don't know of any. We usually camp in the wilderness. Other points in NJ are not out of the question. We just don't know where they are. We will be traveling from the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Thanks.
