I am planning to install two 130 watt panels on the RV roof. The kit came with fasteners that will mount the unit flush on the roof with no space ( 1/4" at best) below the panel. Various articles suggest you need a 2 inch+ space to allow for airflow underneath the panel to keep it cool. Can anyone provide some advice on the best practice for mounting?

Thanks for the info. Had not thought of the weight impact, the compartment will handle it ok based on a visual inspection (will recheck), but will re-weigh the unit to check corner loads. Have not done it for a year, and likely we have accumulated more items of cargo

Is it possible to have a bank of 6 six volt golf cart batteries, or would this overload the charging capabilities of the motorhome (currently have 4 six volt batteries - space is adequate for two more). We dry camp a lot in the fall and having a bit more reserve for the furnace to run would be nice.

Towed Vehicle Protection From Road Hazards
OnTheRidge replied to Raymond's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
We also use the Protect-A-Tow and while only 1000km with it a lot was on dirt/gravel roads and it seems to do the job quite well. Stops the stones from the motorhome, but not from passing vehicles. -
I have an 2000 Freightliner XCS Chassis (2001 Damon Ultrasport) - original Freightliner (Munroe) shocks are toast. So far only Road King has a set of shocks for it. Bilstien 0, Koni front only, Road Kong sounds good but at 3 times the cost of the others it is a bit pricey. Any ideas on other options or should I just go with the Road Kings.
