  1. I've tried I90 through Idaho (hit Snow)to I15 and down. I84 to I15, hit snow east of Twin Falls to I15 twice and snow at Cedar City, Utah twice. My preferred route from Grand Forks, Canada, is 395 to I84 to Twin Falls. Hwy 93 to Ely. Hwy 6 west to Hwy 318 south to where it meets Hwy 93 at Ash springs, Hwy 93 to I15 and your in Las Vegas. In five trips I had compact over the pass east of Pendleton twice, once each way. I leave the middle of Jan. and watch the 10 day forecast.
  2. The laminate windows are marked. DCL SOLEX DUPLATE SAFETY DOT-19 DC-74 My thermo windows CRYSTAL TEM AS-2 DOT 440 CAN 2-12.1 M79 ANSI 291.1-1984 I had a bus conv. business 1986- 2006. The customers that I'm still in contact with have not had thermo problems. That doesn't mean there are no problems as many of the units have changed hands over the years. I used Storm-tite windows. The company has now changed hands & name I believe.
  3. Regading the R value. I have 8 laminate windows, yes, with plastic between 2 layers of glass and in cold weather they are a river of water on the inside. I have 2 thermopane windows they only get slightly wet in the worst conditions. 1 thermo 48"slider is 18 yrs old, the other fixed 72" is 10 yrs. If I didn't have so much on my plate I'd replace the other 8. Traveling from 0 F. to 90F sea level to 6000ft.
