  1. Yes, I did confirm fault is with both 110 and generator running.
  2. All connections tight. Everything in there is very clean. Any other suggestions. Help is very much appreciated..
  3. Thanks, Rich! Still scratching my head on this. Yes, coach does have the magnum power inverter/charger. No access to external 50 amp other than generator. Ur suggestion is to run the generator and see if problem still exist?
  4. I still get the red fault light intermittently w/generator running. Also, while generator is running inverter kicks in and out every 10-15 sec. Green light is blinking constantly.

  6. Thks for ur input. Everything was working yesterday on 110v before I replaced the two 6v coach batteries. Everything seems to work fine on 12v now. I have not hooked up the temperature sensor for the charger to the positive side of coach battery due to cable being to short. Understand this ties into the inverter/charger. Would this cause the fault?
  7. On my 2009 Coachmen CrossCountry 383 FWS, I’m getting a fault (red light) on my panel which shuts off my 110 to coach. If I hit the reset it will give me 110 for 10-15 secs then shuts down again. Got any idea where to start? Thks
  8. Anybody know what the small wire with 4 color-coated wires within that goes to positive post of the battery is used for?
  9. On my 2009 Coachmen CrossCountry 383FWS diesel pusher, I was noticing inside lights dimming as I turn additional ones on. I checked by magnum inverter/converter. Light was blinking every 4 sec which indicated low voltage. Went to battery compartment to check batteries and all filler caps, battery hold down rod, cable connecting the two 6 volt melted on one of the two. Almost like a internal short in one of the batteries. Any ideas, suggestions, comments?
  10. Thanks guys for your input. The tech is an older gentleman and has been doing this all his life. He did suggest us adding a converter. He also suggested using a high amp charger until I can get a converter. If the coach manufacturer can’t tell me where they installed it then without a floor plan for this unit it has been difficult. We spent hrs looking in every compartment, inside and out! If the current magnum inverter was bigger, I would think it was a combined inverter/converter but its only 12”L x 5”W x 2”H. I do have all the manuals, but most of the Coachmen are generic listing a possibility of 3 different types of inverter. It does say the converter is a Parallax. 😒
  11. Well, tech look at my issue today. He determined my problem was the converter, but after he and I looked throughout coach and unable to locate, we called the manuf who tells me this yr/model was last yr for this coachmen and was bought out by forest river therefore no layout drawings are available. So, he said there is a converter but unable to tell me the location. MY LUCK!
  12. Richard, with battery disconnect turned off, I have pulled and checked each battery, chassis batteries are putting out 13.6v. They start gen and the engine no problem. Both 6v’s are showing 6.45 and in series are 13.30v. I’m just not sure about the converter. I can’t locate it to check in and out voltage! If it is used to supply additional power to components this very well may be my problem. Underneath the night stand by the bed is my 12v fuse panel on top (all 12v devices, f&r furnances, water pump, etc) and right below are the breaker’s (water htr, inverter/converter, a/c, washer/dryer, etc). All breakers/fuses are good. If I remove cover, I have one small board that has a green light that says good. No converter here.
  13. Campcop, just saw your post. Since we are not living in it and just have it here at the cabin, I have everything turned off that is running on 12v. TV and microwave are the only two things running and they are 110v. Plugged into garage outlet. (110) By the way, I disconnect the 110v and tried just the generator with a load, space heaters, frig, tv’s, to see if that might make a difference. No! Oh, I am hearing two different opinions . Does the converter do more than supply a “trickle charge” to the batteries or does it also supply power to appliances? I was told trickle charge only!
  14. The gallery and lounge have fluorescent lights which I notice draw more voltage. But, with just the LED lights it doesn't matter what group of LED lights are on it. I noticed this morning where one of the furnaces WAS working now it won’t run but very slow and the co2 alarms. I checked lights again and now they began to dim with only 4 on where it was 7. Voltage from house batteries to coach is still showing 13.5.
  15. Today, without the furnace/furnaces running, I started in back and started turning on all the dual LED lights. On no. 7 all started going dim. The 12v power has to be restricted/limited you would think.
  16. Thanks again! Trying to work on it in the middle of the day while it’s warm. Still cold out here in Colorado.
  17. Yes, furnace is running on 12v. No 120v breaker for furnace. LED,s are running from 12v. Yes, since it started suddenly after a 6 mo extended stationary stay, I too think it may be wire not making or loose. I’ll start checking all connections. Battery disconnect is in the “I” position.
  18. Thanks again for each of your inputs/comments! Furnaces are Atwood model 8525-IV DCLP. Either will run on 12v without shore power. Running generator makes no difference. Have not looked at the transfer switch. Amp draw is 1-2 with either furnace running. All lights are led. I would think the fan brushes could be worn, but would be surprised since problem occurs with either furnace running. No smell of wires or plastic burning. Power transformer could be a problem if I can locate. It’s like the power converter, looked everywhere and unable to locate. Thinking it could be a combined inverter/converter. It’s a Magnum Energy. Coach is a 2009 Coachmen CrossCountry 383fws, 330 diesel.
  19. Well, I thought for sure I found my problem. I’ve checked all connections, all 4 batteries, each fully charged and almost 14 volts out to coach. Guess I’ll check the battery relay as suggested above. I would think it was the furnace fan/fans since that is the only time I notice a problem, but either one running separately causes the problem and either one start and run fine. Both will not run together. Any other thoughts/suggestions. I’m stationary and 100 miles from nearest dealer.

  21. Thanks guys! I’ll check those locations out. Not sure why they make it so difficult to find, 😬
  22. Anybody know the location of the power converter on a Coachmen CrossCountry 383FWS?
