You want to avoid the DC/Balt and NJ/NYC area!! Most pleasant trip is I95 to VA, route 17N (Fredericksburg) to I66, to I81, to I84, to I90, to I495, to I95/I195. It isn't as complicated as it sounds and you'll enjoy the trip. Having lived in/around DC & NJ I can tell you it can be a very stressful trip in a motorhome ( even in car at times).
