F457391 Report post Posted January 31, 2018 Has anyone flat towed a 2018 Ford Edge? We just bought one and had the baseplate installed to be towed with the Blue Ox. The Ford Edge manual says to disconnect the negative battery cable. The placement of the battery in the Edge makes it very difficult to disconnect the negative cable. It's way in the back almost under the dash. We used to have a 2011 Ford Escape and never disconnected the cable. Does anyone know what the risks are if we do not disconnect the cable? If you do disconnect the cable it sounds like you have to go through several steps to reset the clock, reset the power windows bounce-back feature, radio station presets and then drive the vehicle at least 12 mi to completely relearn the idle and fuel trim strategy. Seriously? Do this every time? Thank you for any advice/suggestions.
redldr1 Report post Posted February 5, 2018 See this thread for what I found while towing a 2016 Edge. There shouldn't be a lot of differences between a 16 and a 18 mechanically, your Ford dealer can tell you of any changes.
