ignition switch problem 2003 fleet wood revolution

After starting engine if you  allow the key to return on its own to the run position engine will run for about 6 or 8 revolutions and die, if you release the key slowly   usually   the engine will operate normally. I can not get the ignition switch assy. out of the dash. I have the tool to remove the screwed bezel from the face of the dash but the switch will not release from the switch bezel. Any suggestions on any of the above. I think this is my 2nd. time to post anything I hope I did it right. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is that next to steering column...if you lay down, can you see back off switch?

problem is solved, you need to remove the key lock mechanicsm there is a shoulder on the bezel. Thanks for the thoughts'
