Itasca Meridian

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 Itasca Meridian 36G with 13,000 miles on it. The passenger side side windshield just developed a horseshoe crack at the bottom. I set up an appointment to have it replaced at Barber RV in Ventura Ca. I asked the service rep what could have caused the windshield to crack as I couldn't find any indication it was hit by a rock. As he walked up and saw the location, he said that it was "rust". He then proceeded to pull away the rubber surround and the channel the windshield sits in was full of rust. I am curious if any other Winnebago/Itasca owners are having the same problem and if there is anything I can do to stop this from happening again? Thanks

It's not uncommon. I would have the dealer clean (wire brush) the rust off and paint it with a rust reformer.

My 2008 Winnebago Destination had a leak coming down the windshield. Inspection revealed it was rust. I had 6000 miles on it and it was under warranty. A window specialist was called in by the dealer and it was stated that Winnebago had this ongoing problem. He fixed it and said that for as long as he is alive he'll warranty his work.

You may want to call Winnebago and discuss it with them.

Good luck.

And I thought I had it bad, my 2001 Itasca with just 45,000 miles started leaking this winter while in storage, just one large trip from the top of the driver’s side, now what to do about is the question?

Any thoughts?
