Herrbeeb Report post Posted August 13, 2021 So we're ready to start flat towing a vehicle behind our Tiffin Open Road, and have narrowed the (very small) field down to the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and the Mini Cooper. We know the Jeep is a "no brainer" when it comes to flat towing, but the Mini Cooper seems a little less cut & dry on whether it's towable. Mini claims they have reintroduced the manual shift to its line-up, which would make it a towable top contender, right? But we're picking up a lot of noise that Mini does not endorse towing any of their vehicles. Can anyone clarify any of this for us?
rossboyer Report post Posted August 13, 2021 Google search states manual transmission is flat towable. If you would like a little larger auto, the Chevrolet Equinox is flat towable even with automatic transmission without 4 wheel drive. We have towed 2 different Equinoxs for over 100,000 miles. five Report post Posted August 13, 2021 When in doubt, check the owner's manual. If still in doubt call Mini Cooper and see if they give you the same information the manual has in it.
