McGoo Report post Posted November 20, 2010 I just finished reading the September 2010 FMC magazine article about Columbia ("Columbia: Gem of the Mother Lode") and it brought back memories of my being there in 1945 for the state park dedication. Several years ago my wife and I were having a drink at the City Hotel and the bar manager told me he had worked there for many, many years. When I mentioned that I was there for the dedication he was amazed since he had never met anyone that attended the dedication. FYI, they are still finding gold in the area.
