s.lowe7609@comcast.net Report post Posted December 4, 2010 We are fairly new to rving. We have spent a few weekends working out the kinks in our 28' class c coachmen, and we are now looking for a week long trip. We live in the Orlando area and would like suggestions on where to enjoy some rving and sightseeing. We have thought of the Florida panhandle. Any suggestions welcome. Our dates are 12/20-12/26/2010. Thanks.
0 Guest BillAdams Report post Posted December 4, 2010 You can get to Stone Mountain, GA in about the same amount of time as Pensacola, FL. These are both excellent destinations so you will need to make a choice about what kind of things you would like to do before anyone can give you additional direction. The beach and the air museum are not to be missed in Pensacola and Stone Mountain and the surround GA attractions make for an excellent family destination. Charleston, SC is a bit closer and is also an excellent destination rich in history and great food. While you are about 2 days away, you could make New Orleans or any number of points in between. It depends upon how much time you have and how much time you want to spend at your destination(s). Is it just the 2 of you, kids, grandkids? Things and places you like? If I only had a week, I would try to limit the drive to 1 day each way (300 miles or less) and an area with multiple sites to visit in the immediate area. 0 garykd Report post Posted December 10, 2010 Hi bronxboy, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Answer the questions in Bill's post. If we know more about who is traveling and what you like to do, there are many suggestions within 1 or 2 days driving from Orlando. North is colder and South is warmer. Give us some clues.
