themansells Report post Posted April 12, 2011 We own a 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus and wonder how to go about cleaning the duct work (other than just vacuuming the vents). When the furnace comes on, we can smell dust. Is this something we can do ourselves or should we contact a duct cleaning company? Also wondering if the A/C duct work should be cleaned (not just the ceiling filters which we clean regularly). Any information would be appreciated.
wolfe10 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Welcome the the FMCA Forum. Your first call should probably be to Tiffin to get their recommendation. They will know what material was used for the ducts and the recommended way to clean them. Also, an annual cleaning of the A/C evaporator is an excellent idea, particularly if you live an a humid area. This will need to be accessed from the roof. Use a regular evaporator cleaner from any home HVAC store. Take care that you keep the cleaner and water out of the ducting. Brett
