Advertising/SPAM not allowedInsurance on RV When Full-Timing

Recommended Posts

We are trying to decide about going full-time. We love to travel and are seriously thinking about selling our home. I was just wondering about the insurance for the RV. Do you just keep the insurance you have now or do you have to change? Bonnie and George

You'll want to upgrade to a "full-timer" policy. Right now your liability coverage, should someone injure themselves in or around your RV, comes off your home owners policy when you're set up in camp. You won't have that once the house and that policy are gone. It doesn't add much to your premiums, from what I can tell (haven't quite gone full-time yet but have gotten a quote). You'll also want to make sure all the personal property you carry with you is covered under your policy. Good luck!

We are closing on our house this month to full time. I was going online to get info to start the mail forwarding. Any advice?

We just last week shopped around and got a 'full timing' insurance policy on our rig - we spent a year w/o it (ignorant - didn't know!) - but put the toad and the rig on the same policy. Came out to a very reasonable price, considering. David is a through shopper and it only took him about 2 days to narrow it down and make a decision...

Hi Bonnie & George

We just bought ours this past week. Previously, had a policy for the house and a policy for the motorhome (as an RV).

Now, in going full time (house closes next week) - the cost of the insurance policy for the motorhome is the same as the old policy for the house and the old policy for motorhome together.

What we did:

- got four quotes

- found someone who could walk us through all the details (spend some time on this!)

- ended up with full replacements coverage (if anything were to happen - we get a new current year replacement Suncruiser)

Good luck

Regards,

pdq
