johnnyd Report post Posted June 6, 2011 Not sure if I'm in the right topic section, so , if not, let me know .... I had posted a problem within the last several weeks about air leakage in my fuel system. While trying to solve this problem, I noticed my speedometer would register 25-35 mph while I as standing still. My mechanic had instructed me to put the cruise on fast idle, which i did, and then i noticed this problem. It wouldn't reset. Then when we found the air leak and solved it, after running the engine for a while I noticed the speedometer had reset to 0. Went out on the road to go camping....... no speedometer reading..... just 0 I have a Cat 3126b and a Allison 3000mh with the pushbutton shift selector. On my short 2 day (60 mile) the Allison seemed to work ok. The engine brake, cruise control and shifting seemed OK. Can anyone address this issue? vtbigdog Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Do you know if this is an electronic speedometer or a cable-driven speedometer?
beachguy1 Report post Posted July 7, 2011 I have the same issue speedometer mine is electronic and zero is now 45 MPH, so I have to keep subracting 45 from 120, etc. I think this happened when I hit the speed control by accident at the same time I turned on the windshield wipers. Standard GM setup. Any thoughts on a reset or it is toast? Thanks all, Beachguy1 92 Southwind Chevy
