johnnyd Report post Posted September 29, 2011 We're looking for a nice, clean RV park in southwest Florida for January/February/March 2012. We prefer the campground to be within 5 to 10 miles of a beach, and price in the $700/month range. The last two years, we stayed in La Belle, Fla. Need new scenery but want 50-amp power, sewer and water hookups, Wi-Fi and cable. Any ideas?
bizsmith@yahoo.com Report post Posted September 29, 2011 There is a resort a few miles east of La Belle and just east of the Ortona Corps of Engineers campground. I don't know if this is the one you are in now but if seemed fairly nice when we overnighted there. It is sort of in the middle of nowhere. We always stay in state parks and corps of engineer parks so I don't know too much about private camp grounds.
wolfe10 Report post Posted September 29, 2011 Another Corp park, though probably not relevant for whole season stay. Just 15 miles east of Ft Myers. http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Divisions/Operations/Branches/SFOO/recreation_camping_wpfranklin.htmMy link We have never stayed there in our motorhome, but stayed there this last spring in the sailboat on our way from the Bahamas back to Texas. The slips accommodate 40' boats and are adjacent to the CG. You can watch boats locking through the Franklin Lock. Brett

Tarheel Report post Posted November 11, 2011 We are leaving next week to spend our third winter at Torrey Oaks RV & Golf Resort. It's located on US Rt. 17 between Bowling Green and Wachula, FL. Here is their web site - http://www.torreyoaksrv.com/. It's strickly a RV resort with no park models and the 18 hole golf course surrounds it. There is so much planned activity that often times you have to make decisions as to which you want to do. Friendliest RV park that we have ever stayed at!
