rdrohr Report post Posted December 21, 2011 First time to ask a question. I have a 2008 Holiday Rambler Neptune. The other day I went to insert the key and it seemed like the ignition switch was in a different position. However, the coach started so I thought maybe I was imagining things. Yesterday, I went to start it and the switch was very loose and I had to reach under the dash and hold it in order to start the engine. I was taking the coach in to truck repair shop for another issue and asked them to look at switch. They thought there was probably a set screw. However, they told me today they could not locate one and I would probably have to take coach to an RV repair shop. Has anybody had this problem or know how to tighten it back up. Heading to Florida day after Christmas and don't want to have to reach under dash every time I need to start it. Thanks for any assistance.
hermanmullins Report post Posted December 21, 2011 rdrohr, Welcome to the Forum. It is possible that what you have is a General Motors Ignition switch. It should have a recessed Chrome Bezel. The bezel should have notches on the sides of the recess. Most of the time you can take a pair of needle nosed pliers and spread the tips to fit into the notches and tighten the bezel on the switch. Since the switch is mounted on Fiberglass there isn't a locator notch to keep the switch from turning. I have to tighten mine quit often. Hope this helps. rdrohr Report post Posted December 22, 2011 Herman: Thanks so much for the quick response. I'm pretty sure you have the right answer. I'm going to get the coach back tomorrow and try it out. Thanks again. Rob Rohr
